Abdulkareem hails Oladiji’s appointment as FUTA VC

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin , Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has expressed joy at the appointment of a Professor of Biochemistry at the University, Temidayo Oladiji, as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, the Vice-Chancellor said that Prof. Oladiji’s appointment is “a well-deserved recognition of the well-honed academic excellence and administrative acumen” of the UNILORIN don.

Prof. Abdulkareem, who described Prof. Oladiji as “one of the most hardworking lecturers of the University of Ilorin”, pointed out that “her appointment to head another Federal University is a veritable confirmation of the pre-eminent status of our university in the comity of Nigerian universities”.

The Vice-Chancellor said that as someone who is “100 percent full-blooded Unilorite, having had all her academic degrees and working career at the Better by far University”, he is confident the Prof. Oladiji “would make a very outstanding success in her new position”.

While congratulating the new FUTA Vice-Chancellor on her appointment, Prof. Abdulkareem enjoined her to go into her new assignment with the well-known spirit of probity, selflessness, discipline and uncompromising student-centred policies that have been associated with the University of Ilorin and have mainly accounted for its outstanding successes over the years”.
