The Authorities of Federal Polytechnic, Offa in Kwara state has expressed readiness to resume activities as directed by the Federal governments.
REPUBLICAN NIGERIA recall that the Federal Government had insisted that the January 18 resumption date for schools in the country remains intact despite fears over the surge in COVID-19 cases in Nigeria.
Adamu Adamu, minister of education, had last week directed the reopening on Monday under strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols to avoid spread of the virus.
Consequently, the Management of Federal polytechnic Offa, has hinted on resumption of academic activities in the school.
The Polytechnic Spokesman, Mr Olayinka Iroye dropped the hint in an exclusive chat with REPUBLICAN NIGERIA on Sunday.
Mr Olayinka while responding to enquiry on resumption of academic activities, said “not yet until Academic Board approve the academic calendar for 2020/21 session.”
He however, said Students are to resume on Tuesday 19th, January.
Mr Olayinka had earlier told this Newspaper that the Polytechnic have released the first and second lists for the Higher National Diploma Programme (HND) and had admonished applicants to visit the school portal to check their status.
He had also assured that a third list will be release soon for the Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme.
Asked about the National Diploma (ND) admission, Mr Olayinka said “it will be out before the end of this week.
“Institutions just got approval last week to commence admissions process.” he added.
