Faji resumes, charges Unilorites to read extensively and smartly for exams

The University of Ilorin 35th Students’ Union President, Comrade Faji Tobiloba who was earlier suspended by the Senate Council resumes work as the Executive President of the Union after serving his 14 days suspension.

In his words “Fellow Unilorites, the past few days have been turbulent, confusing, yet it has charted a clearer and a more lucid pathway and direction in our governance. Man is not without faults and shortcomings, and humans cannot coexist peacefully without intermittent rancour. Though unwarranted, but sometimes necessary to keep us on track.

Here is to appreciating the entirety of the Central Executive Council members, Kudos to you for keeping the flag of our Union flying. Also, to the Senators and every other organ of the Union who kept the Kaduna Nzeogwu building running while I was on a temporary leave.

I must say, I have missed this part of my life, and I must emphasize that if there is anything the last few days have taught me, it is that service to you, distinguished Unilorites, has become a thick part of me. My separation from this duty gave me the opportunity to do two things; a sober reflection to see and emphasize how far we have gone, and to evaluate our doings in a bid to get us a clear picture of how to handle the things that are ahead.

Distinguished Unilorites, the time for playing games is over, and our administration must pursue the Development-Oriented mantra we birthed some months back. I would like to use this medium to once again appreciate Unilorites who have turned out in their numbers to ensure a smooth administration.

Without further ado, we have seen political dynamics unfold and evidently, the unionism we run at the University of Ilorin is an intellectual game, and no one, not even the President, must be caught unaware not playing the cards correctly. Unilorites are therefore enjoined to approach us for a proper perception of events at the Students’ Union Building; It is a learning ground for us all -it has birthed leaders and will always birth more leaders.

Conclusively, we must not forget our primary purpose on campus; it is on this premise that I encourage all Unilorites to read intensively and extensively for the exams ahead like your life depends on it. I wish you the very best and good luck in your examinations. Shun examination malpractices and be prayerful.”
