ADAMAWA STATE POLY RESUMPTION DATE 2019/2020 

The Management of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola today at it’s 141st Meeting approved that the Polytechnic will open on 12th October, 2020 as ordered by the state Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Examinations are to commence after 2 weeks of resumption and will last 2 weeks after which the second semester will roll over immediately.

Management has also approved that staff and students upon resumption must comply with the all the COVID -19 NCDC approved protocols; use of face mask, Hand washing, use of hand sanitizer and maintain social distance.

Consequent upon this, lectures are to be staggered with Diploma 1 having their lectures from 6:00 am – 2:00pm while Diploma 2 are to have their lectures from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

A stake holders meeting of the Polytechnic Community had in a meeting agreed to voluntarily make contributions towards the containment of COVID-19 ahead of the school re- opening.

The sum of over 1.7million was realized from the voluntary donations including a number other items such as infra- red thermometers, hand washing soap and hand sanitizers.

Money realized was used to purchase over three thousand additional hand washing soap and sanitizers.

Earlier at the stakeholders meeting, a COVID-19 Taskforce Committee headed by the Director Academic Planning, Dr Gabriel G. Teneke was formed to enforce and administer the COVID-19 protocols.

The Committee has since undertaken the mowing of grass in all the three campuses of the Polytechnic located in the Main Campus, Jambutu and Numan including the fumigation of classrooms and hostels.

Again the Committee has acquired fabricated hand washing machines and placed at strategic locations in all the three campuses.

However, in line with the government appeal on parents to contribute their quota towards the safety of their wards on campus, the Management approved a token of Two Thousand Naira to be paid by each student upon resumption to augument the efforts to of stakeholders and sustain the approved protocols.
